The bay in late April

Even the brave crew of the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat were not venturing out to sea today.
There is a nasty low pressure area sitting over England bringing northerly winds, tiresome rain and waves battering the cliffs. There'll be a few hefty cliff falls overnight and a hopefully a fresh batch of fossils and ammonite-containing nodules on the beach. Blogdog and I will be out in the morning looking to see what the cliffs have deposited. I'm sure our aimiable fossil competitors from Yorkshire Coast Fossils will be out too.
