Ammonites in the news.

Ammonites are very much the signature fossils of Runswick beach. Little is known about them because their soft parts left barely any trace in the fossil record, but a Swiss academic has written a paper on how their reproductive strategies changed over the 300 million years that these creatures lived until their eventual extinction in the Cretaceous.
