Plaice

This plaice (Pleuronectes platessa) was caught on the very day I mentioned to Mrs A.n.h.o.r.b. that in 10 years of almost daily beachwalks I had never seen one of the many shore anglers that fish from Runswick beach catch a fish. As one said, 'catch anything, no, just dfrowned a few worms'. We are about to buy some gear and start kayak fishing in the bay, so more fish, their diets and parasites (yummy) will be appearing on these virtual pages shortly.

How exciting. Did you read this piece in the Gaurdian back in 2009 about Kayak fishing?

This Image is actually a common Flounder and not a Plaice.
