Inverted invertebrates.

I upended a flat rock on the rocky part of the beach to see what lay beneath. A right mixed colony of creatures. Crabs scuttled for cover but these animals, being sessile, stayed to be photographed.

And these...

I replaced the rock and went on my way. Names will be added after the morning blogdog walk, unless readers wish to fill in the blanks (especially the pale objects on the second pic) in comments.

The pale ovals in the second photo look like whelk eggs. Below them, barely visible are some small tunicates, I think. The tiny curls are tubeworms.
